Life is nothing but a roller-coaster, full of ups and downs, topsy -turvy stuff, and huge loopholes. In such a hullaballoo we begin to wonder… “WHY ME!?” Then the usual procedure( so cliché!)- stress eating and buckets of empty ice cream sundaes, complemented with a stress-busting workout( where you begin to sweat more out of your eyes) and to top it of endless complaining and whining howling. Trust me, that’s where the dogs get their inspiration from.
Do we ever stop to think about people who suffer more than us? Do we ever stop to thank the universe for showering countless blessings on us? Are we truly grateful for just being alive? These heavenly feelings take a lot of time to come from our hearts. I have a secret, a foolproof method to be happy with whatever we have. Without further ado, I’m going to let the cat out of my bag…
Watch an episode of any daily soap! Yeah, you heard me right. No one deserves a pity party more than the ‘innocent’ protagonists. I mean, watch it once. Can you believe how many struggles they face? Imagine yourself in their place. You would have to face numerous insults and problems in your love life at the beginning of the show. When everything is going smoothly, out of the blue, the antagonist will kidnap you for no particular reason at all. Guess what?-SHOCKER- The person who kidnaped you is your own family member. Finally, you get rescued and the antagonist is banished from your house. Then you have an amazing career going and are going to get married when you’re trapped in a fire, almost get shot, and fall prey to food poisoning, right on your wedding day. Sometimes your relatives exit the show and a whole new person enters. You have to believe it’s your dearest sister/brother who has come back from a plastic surgery session and everything is normal. Every other day somebody at work, home, or any random stranger with the help of occult powers drives you bonkers. Oh, and at least one of your family members has to be arrested by the police. If this isn’t enough, they make sure you get brainwashed. At the end of it, the whole cycle repeats. And no… this does not take place at normal human speed. I went to my grandma’s place after about a month and the protagonist was still waiting for his interview to start.
All these so-called ‘unrealistic melodramas’ shout out only one message- Your normal life is B-O-R-I-N-G! For once I think we all would agree- Boring is better. (Not to mention happier.) All our daily doses of emotions are magnified to an infinite extent by these ‘serials’. We call our lives melodramatic? Please. Compared to their lives, ours are waaaay less. Forget entertainment, these programs provide us with a gift much more valuable- true spiritual gratefulness.
Nicely done!
